A Halloween Daytime Adventure...

I just love how Halloween has grown so much here in Australia over the last few years. I remember trying to go trick or treating as a child and it was like pulling teeth as most neighbours just weren't interested and seemed more annoyed than anything at kids in costumes knocking on their doors.

Not now. Well not where we are living anyway. People really get into it. Last year we were blown away by how many people came around and I even ended up having to put up a sign saying we were out of treats! And I thought I was over prepared with a big tub full of goodies. So much fun.

This year is shaping up to be another big one, and I was keen to get in on the spirit of things early, to make it more of a season rather than just a single day. So I let my fingers do the walking with my good friend google. To my surprise a Halloween event just up the road from us popped up, at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Talk about awesome!

The kids had no idea we were going, which made it even better. We just got the dressed up and into the car 'for a drive'. I just love getting to surprise our littles with fun activities. And it was so great.

They had a blast and were totally amazed by all the decorations and the other people dressed up. It was a great morning. It was on all day 9 - 9, but we only went for a couple of hours in the morning before it got too hot. We will definitely be going back next year. And we may even hit up the night time fun, because it would all look so great lit up. Talk about fun!

We ended our day with a Halloween appropriate movie marathon. Scooby Doo and the Reluctant Warewolf, Hocus Pocus and then once the little were all in bed, Harry
Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1. We ate goodies and enjoyed our night.
It was so great to really get into the Halloween celebrating spirit.

What about you. Do you love or loathe Halloween? Do you celebrate it in a big way or avoid it altogether? Let me know.

How fun! I love Halloween! Unfortunately we are a little under the weather so I am not sure about trick or treating tomorrow. :(
