Handmade Christmas Ideas 2013 {Day 2}...

Thanks for joining me again today. Didn't catch {Day 1} click here to see what you missed.

Today I have a super yummy recipe for you. With an awesome shortcut!

Candy Cane Chocolate Fudge Brownies

I love nothing more than baking from scratch. It's awesome, but sometimes you are strapped for time and energy and need something that you can throw together quickly with big results. This definitely ticks all those boxes.

You'll need:
I packet fudge brownie mix (I used one from Aldi)
Egg's, butter, water etc as per your mixes instructions
1/2 cup choc bits, I went with white this time but any work well
6 large or 12 small candy canes, chopped up

Here's an important tip: a peppermint hot chocolate will make the whole process a lot more fun. And if you add a little Pandora Christmas its even better.

It's so simply. Make the mix as per the box. Then stir through the choc bits and 3/4 of the chopped up candy cane. Pour into a lined pan and sprinkle with the remaining candy cane.

I used the back of my knife to tap and crack the candy canes while still in their wrapping.

Bake as per your boxes instructions. Mine was 35 minutes on 180c.

Let cool, cut into small pieces because it is really rich. You can dust with cocoa or icing sugar or leave plain. It's all good.

And they are perfect to package up to give as teachers gifts. I made up two batches the packaged ours with a coffee gift voucher from Gloria Jeans and called it a day!

These sweet little gift boxes were from The Reject Shop for $2 for 4. Thank you!

There you have it, now wipe the drool off your computer/ipad and go make these brownies. You can thank me later.

Come back tomorrow for a great sewing project.
Happy baking!
