Cool Change...

http://tylerknott.com

The thing I notice in 90% of the blogs that I read at the moment is everyone is wishing for warmer weather. Granted most of the blogs I read are based overseas with opposite seasons, yet I still find it a little amusing. Okay a lot if I'm honest. Simple things people.

Here we are finally getting a little respite, at night at least, from the hot, muggy, sweating summer weather. It feels so good to finally be able to feel a cool breeze blowing through the house that doesn't come for the air conditioning being run pretty much 24/7.

Something happens to me when the cooler winds start to blow. I can't explain except to say it's not unlike nesting. I feel the urge to clean, purge, redecorate and change the feel of everything. From cupboards, drawers, table tops, pillows, candles. Nothing escapes my insane habit.

Perhaps it's a way of preparing our home, to make if feel good before those long, cold winter days hit and all we really want to do is snuggle up indoors.

Or maybe it's a way of recovering from the chaotic time of year that summer is. Well here in Australia, with Christmas, New Year and start of the new school year. Maybe I'm trying to get back some sort of control and order.

It could even just be that I feel refreshed and reenergised when the cool winds start to blow and doing things like sanding and repainting our coffee table sounds way more fun in 28c weather than it did in 38c weather.

Whatever the reason, bring on the cool change. Bring on autumn.
Because autumn always captures my heart.

At least it's starting to cool down a bit for you! Our summer across the ditch here in NZ hasn't been that amazing really. A lot of rain, not that we ever get into high 30's very often at all. But we have been hearing about your weather over there so I really feel for you on that!
